HaalChaal — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HaalChaal (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses,
stores, and shares your information when you use the HaalChaal mobile application
and related services (“App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described
in this Policy.
1) Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data based on your consent and for legitimate purposes including
providing services, fraud prevention, platform safety, payment processing, and compliance with applicable Indian laws including the Digital Personal Data Protection framework.
2) Information We Collect
- Account Information: name, email address, profile photo, preferences, and age confirmation (18+).
- Usage Information: call duration, timestamps, interaction logs, device data, IP address, diagnostics.
- User Content: messages and media shared in the App, processed for delivery, safety, and moderation.
- Location Data (Optional): approximate location from IP/device if permitted.
- Payment Metadata: transaction ID, status, amount, and timestamp.
- Permissions Data: camera, microphone, and notification permissions status.
- Send transactional and service-related notifications.
3) Camera, Microphone & Recording Disclosure
- The App requires camera and microphone access for video calling features.
- Audio/video is transmitted in real time to other users you connect with.
- We do not record calls by default unless required for abuse investigation, moderation, or legal compliance.
- Other users may capture screenshots or recordings — we cannot control user behavior outside the App.
4) Stranger Interaction Risk Notice
HaalChaal connects you with strangers. Do not share personal, financial, or intimate
information. We are not responsible for misuse of information shared voluntarily with other users.
5) Payments & Cashfree
Payments on HaalChaal are processed through trusted third-party payment gateways,
including Cashfree.
- We do not store or process your card details, UPI ID, bank account information, or wallet credentials.
- Payment details are collected and processed directly by Cashfree in accordance with their
Privacy Policy.
- We receive only limited transaction metadata such as payment confirmation, transaction ID,
amount, and status for accounting and support purposes.
- All payments are one-time and used to purchase in-app coins or services. Refunds, if any,
are governed by our Terms & Conditions.
6) Coin-Based Purchases & Non-Refundable Policy
HaalChaal offers in-app virtual coins that can be purchased using one-time payments.
These coins are used exclusively to access digital services such as video calls and
other in-app features.
- All coin purchases are final and non-refundable.
- Coins have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real money.
- Coins are deducted automatically based on usage (for example, call duration, chat, etc).
- Once coins are credited to your account, they cannot be reversed, transferred,
or refunded, even if unused.
- Payments are processed via third-party gateways such as Cashfree, and we only
receive confirmation of successful transactions.
Refunds will not be provided for partial usage, accidental purchases, dropped calls,
connectivity issues, or user dissatisfaction, except where required by applicable law.
7) How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain core App features including video calling and messaging.
- Process payments, manage coin balances, and prevent fraudulent transactions.
- Improve performance, safety, and user experience.
- Enforce our Terms & Conditions and community guidelines.
- Detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and lawful government requests.
- Communicate with you regarding updates, service messages, and support.
- Analyze messages, media, and interaction signals using automated and manual systems to detect abuse, scams, fraud, and policy violations.
8) Sharing of Information
- Service Providers: cloud hosting, analytics, moderation, notifications, and payment processing (e.g., Cashfree).
- Legal & Safety Requirements: when required to comply with law or protect users and the platform.
- Business Transfers: in case of merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- Aggregated or Anonymized Data: used for analytics and reporting without identifying individuals.
9) Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for service delivery, safety,
fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Limited identifiers may be retained after
account deletion to prevent repeat abuse or fraud.
10) Account Deletion & Data Requests
You may request account and data deletion via in-app settings or by emailing
service.haalchaal@gmail.com.
Verified requests are processed within 15–30 days unless retention is legally required.
11) Legal Requests & Safety Cooperation
We may preserve and disclose user information to law enforcement or government authorities
when legally required or when necessary to protect users, investigate fraud, abuse,
or security incidents.
12) Your Rights & Choices
- Access, update, or delete your profile information within the App.
- Control app permissions (camera, microphone, notifications, location) through device settings.
- Opt out of promotional communications where applicable.

13) Children’s Privacy
HaalChaal is strictly for users aged 18 years and above.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
If we become aware that a minor has used the App, we will delete the account and associated data.
14) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data,
including encrypted communication where applicable and restricted access.
However, no system is completely secure.
15) International Data Transfers
Your information may be stored or processed in countries other than your own.
We take appropriate measures to ensure adequate data protection in accordance with applicable laws.
16) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
The updated version will be effective when posted.
Continued use of the App indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.
